Give naloxone when you suspect an opioid overdose.
Call 911, follow the instructions on the product, give naloxone, and stay with the person. If they do not respond in 2 to 3 minutes, give another dose if one is available. Put the person on their side, provide rescue breathing or CPR if you are trained and it is safe, and wait for emergency responders. Naloxone is temporary, so emergency care is still needed.
